Description

The school is a leading provider of education and research into marine science and technology. Continuing professional development and introductory courses in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering are available. Extensive research facilities for investigations into ships and their equipment, a model towing tank, propeller cavitation tunnel, wind wave and current tank and engine laboratory. Examples of work include testing the performance of historic shop models and testing of historic propellers. The School has an extensive library on all marine topics, with a dedicated librarian.
Technical advice on all aspects of ships, including hull forms, structures, materials, outfitting and equipment is available from staff at the School.
Short courses in marine project management, including planning, scheduling, cost estimating.
