Underfall Boat Yard
Description
The Underfall Boat Yard is in the floating harbour in Bristol City Docks in a restored range of buildings dating from 1858. We have highly experienced shipwrights and carpenters, riggers, blacksmiths/metal fabricators and a high tech fibre composite specialist. Recent projects include 2 new pilot cutters and 3 new Cornish pilot gigs and numerous rebuilds and repairs. Our slipway can lift out boats up to 110ft long and 180 tonnes. We also offer spaces for people to work on their own boats in or our of the water, under cover or outside. Outside contractors are welcome to work in the yard.
The buildings are owned by a charity which leases workshops to small companies and all profits are used to maintain and develop the facilities. Very occasionally we have workshops available to suitable applicants. Our charges and conditions can be found on our website.
