International Boatbuilding Training College (IBTC Ltd)

Description

We have been building boat builders for over 37 years. Originally set up to cater for the training needs of the Broads yards we now have graduates working in yards far and wide.

We offer practical hands on training in traditional and modern wooden boat building techniques. Courses can be tailor made to suit individual needs, anything from a day to a year. Our Practical Wooden Boatbuilding Diploma includes City & Guilds 2463 level 3 and incorporates our 12 week basic joinery skills course. With over 20 training projects we can provide a broad range of boatbuilding experience, from a 9’ new build clinker dinghy to a 47’ carvel yacht restoration.
Short courses include; marine surveying, caulking with oakum and cotton, double diagonal planking repairs, splicing and knot work, GRP repairs, lofting, half model building, router work, marine plumbing and electrics, timber technology, advanced joinery, and furniture making.

Visitors are always welcome, contact us for further details.
