polly-agatha-under-sailDue to Cockwells continued expansion they have another exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join their committed team:

Purpose of Role

To ensure that new projects are introduced on time, within budget constraints and to liaise with key customers to ensure specification is delivered to expected quality standards.

Critical Activities

  • To produce a project plan, with charts and milestones, identifying critical steps
  • To create a detailed build list of components and ensure components are ordered on time
  • To liaise with the client(s) and inform the client on a regular basis of any changes to the work schedule (time & costs).
  • To manage the sub contractors, liaise with the designer and to report and liaise regularly with MD on technical issues and decisions.
  • To keep a risks and issues log for each project as a diary for future improvements
  • To manage the project delivery team, ensuring they have the information they need, set clear deadlines and to feedback regularly on progress
  • You are responsible for positively monitoring your labour force and have overall responsibility for the Health and Safety of the staff in your teams.

Key Performance Indices

  • Delivery of project on time, within budget and to agreed specification
  • Meeting requirements of labour productivity plan
  • Component and material usage in line with agreed budget
  • Establishing a robust process for project management.

Organisation

  • Reporting to Managing Director
  • Member of dynamic management team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of project management in busy dynamic environment
  • Well organised and natural leader
  • Experience of managing tight timescales and budgets
  • Computer literate.
Also required is an experienced boatbuilder
