Jeremy Rogers

3 February 2012

Jeremy Rogers Boatyard launched Calpyso at the Southampton Boat Show in 2010 - a 'greener' version of the iconic Contessa 32.  The aim of the Calypso project was to showcase the many innovative 'green' products and technology out there, without having to compromise on quality or craftmanship of the finished product.

In recognition of this, Calypso was winner of the Practical Boat Owner Magazine Green Award of 2011.

Sincer her launch, the Rogers family have put Calypso through her paces; she was the first Contessa 32 to finish the 2011 Round the Island Race (coming 12th in the IRC class) and was cruised extensively by Kit Rogers and young family in the summer of 2011.

The boat has been a great opportunity to try at first hand many new and exciting products, like a diesel-electric hybrid engine, innovative green solutions to antifoul and real wood teak alternatives, amongst many others.

Now, Calpyso will be put up for sale on eBay - finishing auction date of February 25th at 4pm.  For more information, visit seelingcalypso.blogspot.com or email: jessierogers2@gmail.com
