History

BLADE was built for Sydney Kirkham who was the Managing Director of the Hippodrome Theatre in Sheffield. The current owner is only the fourth since the vessel was built. Her second owner was Mr Dick Smart  who had already maintained BLADE for many years for Mr Kirkham and decided to purchase her in 1953. In 2000 Fred Spencer purchased BLADE and refitted the beta marine engines. The current owner bought the vessel in 2007.  BLADE is in good condition and remains operational thanks to the owner's son who is a shipwright and undertakes the maintenance of the vessel.

If you are the owner of the vessel and would like to provide more details or updated information please contact info@nationalhistoricships.org.uk
