DOROTHY is a classic bermudan yacht, built by Henry Reynolds at Lowestoft in 1904. Her official number was 119380. Her hull is carvel, fastened with copper nails roved and clenched. She has a counter stern and a spoon bow, with oak frames, oak and larch planking and an elm deadwood. Her current engine is a 1963 BMC 1500cc, with four cylinders and 37 brake horsepower.

It is believed that DOROTHY was based upon BRITANNIA’s lines and that there were only two other similar vessels built, one of which is called MAIDIE. She was owned by her builder for twenty years until his death in 1924. The present owner purchased her in 1973. Prior to that, she had lain derelict for twenty years at St Oysth.
